Route of the Broadway Skytrain Extension
With the population of Vancouver, BC increasing, Translink is hoping to extend the Millennium skytrain line along the Broadway corridor. They are proposing to create a line from the from Vancouver Eastside's VCC–Clark station to a new station on Arbutus Street on Vancouver's Westside. Some of the skytrain will be above ground, but primarily it will be tunneled beneath the Broadway Corridor.
Timeline for the Broadway Corridor Extension of the Millennium Skytrain
According to Translink, the provincial and federal governments have committed funds to this project. If approved, construction could start as early as 2019. The construction is expected to take approximately five to six years to complete.
