The City of Vancouver is planning to build several new parks in two growing neighbourhoods: The River District in South East Vancouver and Downtown.

River District

Three parks are proposed to be built between Kerr Street and Boundary Road along the Fraser River beginning around 2018 or 2019.

  • Kinross Park
  • Neighbourhood Park South

Downtown at Smithe and Richards

Construction is expected to begin around the middle of 2018 and complete approximately a year later. Proposed amenities currently include:

  • Public washrooms
  • Seating
  • Decorative water feature
  • Children's playground
  • Landscaping with new trees, shrubs and flowers
