Vancouver, BC is proposing to implement a new law to require short-term rentals, such as Airbnb, of less than 30 days require a licence. Only homes listed as an owner's principal home will qualify. If approved, Mayor Gregor Robertson says this could add up to 1,000 homes back into the long-term housing pool and help with the shortage of rental properties in Vancouver.

When considering which of two or more competing offers to accept for your home, there is no doubt price plays a huge role. After all, if Offer #1 is $10,000 higher than Offer #2, that’s an enticing difference that puts thousands of extra dollars in your pocket.

In the past, the only recourse owner's had to resolve disputes was to seek help from the property manager and the strata council, and if that failed the next step was expensive and drawn out legal action. Therefore, disputes were often not resolved to the parties' satisfaction.
